Driving a Ferrari in Italy, how to make this dream come true

The package is called “Drive the Dream Italia”, and it starts in Maranello, where Ferrari fans will be allowed to test-drive a Ferrari F430 Coupe

Driving a Ferrari is a dream for many people, and for obvious reasons, having the chance to fulfil it in Italy might be even more fascinating.

The point is that not many people know that this dream has recently become so easy to make true, since an Italian tour operator started offering its clients the opportunity to book a "Ferrari test drive" to be completed in the hills of Emilia Romagna, the region where this wonderful luxury car originated.

The package is called "Drive the Dream Italia", and it is advertised by Perillo Tours' Italy Vacations.com. The tour starts in Maranello, where Ferrari fans will be allowed to test-drive a Ferrari F430 Coupe. A four-day itinerary follows, passing by beautiful cities such as Bologna, Parma and Modena; the medieval village of Torrechiara; the Ferrari Gallery Museum or the Casa Enzo Ferrari Museum; and a tasting tour at the producers of Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, prosciutto di Parma and balsamic vinegar.

The basic package costs $1,380 per person. It is basically arranged for couples, and it includes three nights at a five-star hotel, ground transportation, an English-speaking guide and daily breakfast.

Organizing a trip to Italy, with a few days stop in Emilia Romagna, would be indeed very interesting for couples aiming at discovering an often neglected region of Italy, which is actually famous for its delicious food and for its beautiful small cities.

Beyond Bologna, Modena, and Parma, Ferrara, Ravenna and Rimini could be valuable options for tourists aimed at gaining a deeper knowledge of the region, and beyond cheese, ham and vinegar tasting, local restaurants offer a huge variety of local food. Moreover, assuming that in couples interested in booking a "Drive the Dream Italia" package it is usually the man that is interested in driving a Ferrari, a 10-minute (short) circuit is covered only for one person, but another driver and a different car and track may be selected for an additional cost. Finally, nostalgic guests can opt for renting a vintage car if they are looking for a more romantic experience.
