Samsung fosters Made in Italy excellence in traditional trade

Maestros Academy is an online platform connecting young talents with Made in Italy Masters

Maestros Academy is an online platform launched by Samsung to put in contact young talents with Italian traditional trades. The project consists in a series of video-tutorials held by some of Italy's greatest masters. They share the know-how of their profession and inspire younger generations to rediscover old trades. "Samsung's mission has always been to value talent and quality and this initiative concretely contributes to support the excellences of the future", explains to the Italian newspaper Il GiornaleLuca Danovaro, marketing director of Samsung Electronics Italy.

The platform incentivizes young talents to discover their creativity and develop their professional skills by following the steps of Made in Italy pioneers. Amongst the Maestros, there is Giovanni Pelizzoli, bicycle frame builder, whose name is a guarantee of perfection. During his professional life he has made more than 400 bicycle frames in carbon, titanium and steel. Another Master is Alessandro Sinischalchi, a shirt maker who took over the craftwork that belonged to his family generation after generation. Mr. Siniscalchi is able to maintain the traditional quality of the shirts, also introducing innovative ideas to his collections.

In addition to the Masters, Samsung Academy also comprehends some endorsers, great entrepreneurs, such as René Caovilla, who belongs to the third generation of a company that makes shoes worn by celebrities like Rihanna and Jennifer Aniston on red carpets. Another ambassador of Maestros Academy is Davide Oldani, the world-renowned creator of POP cuisine concept. Luciana Savignano is a ballet dancer, who became étoile in 1972. During her tutorial she conveys her passion for dancing to stimulate and support young talents.

All the video-tutorials are freely available online. Each of the masters counts eight to ten videos, each focused on a specific topic. Some of the lessons are also offered online in specialized academies, such as the Tech Institute of Trento.
