Discovering Naples Underground

This is the most famous and fascinating guided tour underneath an Italian city, enabling the participants to take a journey through 2,400 years of history

Tourists looking for something definitely off the beaten track when travelling along Southern Italy have now given to explore Naples forty meters below the street level. Visiting the so-called Napoli Sotterranea (Naples Underground) is equal to a travel to the past.

Naples Underground is the most famous and fascinating guided tour underneath an Italian city, enabling the participants to take a journey through 2,400 years of history, from the ancient time of Greek colonists to modern times and unveil the "womb" of Naples. The tour includes the Greek-Roman Aqueduct, reached after going down 136 steps, as well as the remains of the Roman Theater, the air raid shelters from the Second World War, and the Hypogeum Gardens, where plants are grown in the bowels of the earth.
