Italy launches a new casual gaming challenge

Digital Magics promotes a new call for start-ups working on online gaming

Digital Magics has just launched a new Call for Innovation aimed at attracting start-ups working on "casual games", that is video games for smartphones and tablets.

Casual games are a type of video game that stands out for their simplicity and not very demanding engagement. They usually attract an audience that only occasionally approach videogames, mainly to "fill in empty moments".

There is no precise classification of existing casual game genres: most of them are puzzles or replicas of board games like checkers or chess. Others are based on the recognition of words, others are endowed with strategic elements. Finally, there are some action-based games that refer to the classic Arcade.

Digital Magics, with the support of La Settimana Enigmistica, wants to offer the opportunity to young start up, focused on gaming, to emerge in this field.

The goal of this Call for Innovation is to find the best projects able to stimulate with new ideas and product the field of entertaining games. The call has been launched to allow Digital Magics to get in touch with the most innovative start-ups specialized in online gaming. Ten start-ups will be selected from all those who will submit their proposal between September 10th and October 7th.

The selected companies will participate in the pitch during the "Innovation Day" that will be hosted on November 5th, 2018 at the Talent Garden headquarters. The representatives of these ten start-ups will be called to discuss their proposal before a jury formed by the top management of Digital Magics and the one of La Settimana Enigmistica. Their goal will be the one of analyzing the projects in detail, and evaluating the opportunity of launching new partnerships both on a commercial and technological level.

Candidatures can be submitted until October 7th, and final results will be announced before the end of October.
