BLANK2Y's «Fuego» is burning hot
Check the exclusive video to find out about BLANK2Y's members MBTI
When we met BLANK2Y for the first time, they were just a newborn K-pop group with a lot of passion. Now, they are back on the scene and ignited a real fire, winning the hearts of many fans worldwide. It has been only four months since our last chat, but the boys have changed a lot. They still have that burning desire to show their abilities, but they are more mature and conscious of the challenges they will find on the road to success.
Since the release, their last work, K2Y II: PASSION [FUEGO], has been drawing much attention thanks to its powerful songs and visuals, raising expectations of what will come next.
BLANK2Y, pronounced BLANK-EE, are deeply connected to their fandom, K2YWE, whose pronunciation is KIWI. Since the beginning, they have truly committed to their fandom showing every side of their life. That's why they played with us and revealed for the first time their MBTI to K2YWE.
Last time we spoke, you were entering the K-pop world. And now, here we are with your first comeback. Congratulations boys! How does it feel?
DONGHYUK: We were quite nervous because we wanted to prepare ourselves as much as possible during a short prep time between the first and second album promotions. However, we still worked hard every day because we wanted to meet our fans, K2YWE, and show them our comeback stage.
Your first album keyword was Confidence. Now we are on a totally different speed with Fuego. Why Fuego?
DONGHYUK: ‘Fuego’ is a Spanish word meaning fire. When we think of Spanish and Latin American culture, we can think of festivals and passionate music genres such as samba. We thought ‘Fuego’ would be a good word to describe our own passion too!
And let’s talk about your song, Burn it up. How would you describe it?
MIKEY: Our new title track ‘FUEGO(Burn it up)’ presents a strong and exotic rhythm on top of heavy drum beats. You will witness BLANK2Y’s passion, musicality, and performance that excel those from our debut track ‘Thumbs Up’.
How did you change in these past few months?
LOUIS: I think ‘FUEGO(Burn it up)’ has a harder choreography than ‘Thumbs Up’, but I also think that practicing hard with members has helped me to improve in dancing, vocal range, and lung capacity.
About your new album, which is your favorite track and why?
SODAM: For me, it is ‘FUEGO(Burn it up)’. Not only it is our new title track, but also it has strong choreography and melody that expresses our passion very well.
Which is your biggest inspiration in the industry? Do you have any role models you would love to work with?
SIWOO: My role model is a senior idol, Juyeon from THE BOYZ! When I saw his stage on the program ‘Road to Kingdom’, I started looking up to his dance moves and facial expressions. If I get a chance, I would love to collaborate with him on ‘Studio Choom’ or the end-of-year award show.
What are you the proudest of as BLANK2Y?
SODAM: Even though we’re rookies, we got thankful opportunities to act as ambassadors for Coex, Jeju Tourism, and Korea Tourism Organization. I am very proud to serve as ambassadors for these great communities as a member of BLANK2Y.
Which is the biggest achievement you want to reach before the end of the year?
SIWOO: We want to promote our group BLANK2Y more because we debuted not too long ago. Also, we also want to win Rookie of the Year award because it is every rookie’s dream!

SODAM: I love Christmas season, so I’m already waiting for Christmas by listening to All I Want for Christmas is You.
DK, you were a member of DOS in the hit drama Hometown Cha Cha Cha. I have a question for all of you: are you watching any drama right now? If not, which is your favourite one?
DK: I couldn’t catch up on recent dramas due to our schedules, but there is one drama I’d like to recommend to everyone; <Business Proposal>. It was a lovely drama, and I also really liked the OST ‘Love, Maybe’. I can definitely pick this as the top drama of my life, and I would actually like to watch it all over again.
Now it’s Fuego... But what we should expect from you from now on?
DONGHYUK: We’ll always try our best to show various sides with our own confidence and passion. We’ll never lose our focus, and we’ll always stay humble and healthy! Please look forward to various activities coming from BLANK2Y!
