Milan: the leader of recycling

Two new initiatives to protect the environment during the Christmas period

At Christmas it is possible to boost recycling habits thanks to projects like those sponsored by Milan municipality and Comieco, the Italian National Consortium for Recycling.

Salvacarta is an initiative devoted to paper recycle in schools. The institutions involved are already 360, where students are also educated on the importance of recycling. At the same time, from the 7th until the 24th December Milan shopkeepers will be engaged in cartons collection to be recycled. Boxes of every dimension will be picked up daily in order to have more space and to keep the streets of the city clean.

These very simple initiatives are quite unique in Europe, confirming Milan pivotal role in recycling, not only at the national but also at the international level.
