Enjoying Tuscany by bike

Arduous climbs, monuments and festivals are as attractive as food and wine

With its article "Chianti by Bike" The New York Times has recommended to all its readers interested in learning something about Italian food and wine to fly to Tuscany and rent a bike to enjoy as much as possible from one of Italian most beautiful area.

It is indeed common for amateur riders to plan weeklong or even longer trips featuring arduous climbs and  technical descents in a place where they can also have plenty of time to taste the region's main attractions, food and wine. "Normal tourists" are more and more frequently doing the same, although skipping the hardest hills for sightseeing and festivals.
