Italy and Iran, new opportunities for SMEs
During this visit alone, Italy could sign up to $18.4 billion in deals with Iran
With sanctions eventually lifted, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is looking to re-establish Iran's European connections. Rouhani's European tour started with Rome, where he met with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and Pope Francis.
Eager to sign economic deals, the Iranian president is travelling with around 100 advisors, ministers, and members of the Iranian business community.
According to Gerardo Biancofiore, the President of the Association of Italian Builders (Associazione Nazionale Costruttori Edili/ANCE), Italian Small and Medium Enterprises are the ones that can benefit the most from a strengthened partnership with Iran. This partnership could indeed boost growth and development in both countries.
