Sanlorenzo and Officina Italiana Design ready to conquer the global yachting market

Sanlorenzo, the third shipyard in the world, has recently signed an agreement with the prestigious studio Officina Italiana Design to design new models destined to the global yachting market. Some characteristics of the first two new models have just been unveiled: one is the Sanlorenzo 62Steel, a 62-meter superyacht in steel, the other a smaller fiber-glass yacht.

The partnership between Sanlorenzo and Officina Italiana Design is important for the global yacht market as it finally creates a connection between two top players of the yachting industry, two companies that have already received several prizes for their successful cutting-edge style and standards projects.

The Italian shipyard expect this partnership to help Sanlorenzo to set a new benchmark for the whole international yachting industry. The traditional lines that have been characterizing their yachts for more than 50 years will be modernized in order to maintain their style and elegance without becoming old, a sort of "timeless true classic" design.

When describing the new 62Steel model that he designed, Mauro Micheli explained that after realizing that there is a huge amount of yacht "with chaotic exterior lines" in the nautical market, he had the idea of creating "a yacht without exaggerations, but with an extreme formal simplicity, an elegant and sober object", a piece whose personality could be linked to harmony and proportion rather than exaggeration.

Sanlorenzo CEO Fulvio Dodich commented the new partnership highlighting that he is "sure that from this partnership the most attractive motoryachts of the next few years will come out, for the pleasure of all those owners in love with the sea and elegance. These new yachts will become the new point of reference for many years to come and the new 62Steel is a clear example of that".

This is definitely a demanding as well as exciting challenge, but Sanlorenzo's success will be surely appreciated all over the world.
