Giò Ponti works on exhibit in Georgia, US
"Modern Living: Giò Ponti and the 20th-Century Aesthetics of Design" will be on view until September 17th, 2017
Italian architect and designer Giò Ponti creations will be on display from the end of this week onwards in the U.S., as a collection of his work is exhibited at the Georgia Museum of Art.
Born in Milan, Italy, in 1891, Ponti kept working all over his 60-years career and left a permanent mark on the manufacturing industry, design and architecture of his country. He made a successful attempt to imagine objects whose decorative beauty matched to their functionality: in his own words, "The most resistant element is neither cement, nor wood, nor stone, nor steel, nor glass. The most resistant material in construction is art".
"Modern Living: Giò Ponti and the 20th-Century Aesthetics of Design" will be on view until September 17th, 2017.
