5 Italian startup got support from the EU

Impact, a recent project of the European Union assisting new businesses, had 5 Italian startup as winning protagonists.

The generous communitarian initiative awarded winners with a ?100 thousand  free grant to provide companies, in six months, with activities of mentoring and training by experts and entrepreneurs of digital economy. Worth mentioning is the fact that 5 out of 18 winners were Italian, selected out of 971 applications.

In details, the startups are active in very diverse sectors. For instance, the Sailing Boats online portal that puts in contacts professional skippers with potential customers, who have the chance to choose a destination and the kind boat available. It is also possible to know more about the skipper thanks to the reviews of the users, knowing their feedbacks. Once everything is settled, the customer can pay online and finally leave.

Another financed project was the one on carsharing and bikesharing, called eVeryride. It has the maps of Milan, Rome, Florence and Turin where more that a company offers its vehicles.The platform provides information on the means of transport as well as on the distances and prices.

Last Minute stands as a very intelligent initiative to avoid food waste. In fact, it allows groceries with products close to their expire date or in excess to alert the citizens who live close about their specials via text message.

Lastly, What a Space works as Airbnb but for events. In particular, it connects people who have a location with events organizers looking for one. This space marketplace is also very used by those who are interested in opening a temporary shop. Ads are posted for free, while the company earn 3% on each rent.
