Schmid launches the vintage Barbie

Schmid, the Milan-based company producing fabrics for shoes and accessories for the major national and international fashion brands, has recently had a brilliant idea which is both functional and eco-friendly.

The company is using old fabrics, stocks or items from old collections to create vintage Barbies. This project is on thanks to Elena Ronchetti, emerging designer, who reproduces mini outfits for the most popular and beloved dolly in the word.

More specifically, Elena's Barbies have different styles: from the 1700s to the 1930s, the 1950s and the Italian economic boom. All Barbies and their outfits are the outcome of an attentive study of the fashion of that specific period, including clothing, hair style and accessories. This gives life to unique Barbies very much appreciated in Italy and abroad.
