With Vintaly approaching (the most famous Italian wine exhibition will open in Verona in mid-April), it is encouraging to learn that wine sales are increasing again in the country.
Nero d'Avola, Vermentino and Trebbiano remain Italians' favourite choices, but Passerina, Valpolicella Ripasso and Nebbiolo sales are also increasing.
According to the latest report on Italian wine market, it seems that the number of consumers who is buying wines that are more expensive is increasing. Analysts believe this is a very good sign proving that the market is more mature and people are more and more looking for quality product.
As far as Italian supermarkets are concerned, the most popular wines remains Lambrusco and Chianti among the reds and Chardonnay among the whites.
