Digital Magics M) - a well-known Italian business incubator - has recently launched the call for innovation "Industrial Digital Transformation". In partnership with IBM, Digital Magics has kicked off this project to support Italian startups working in the field of digital technologies and innovative business models. In particular, the call addresses innovative Italian companies working in the manufacturing industry including housebuilding, metallurgy, steel industry, automotive, mechatronics, electronics and much more.

Nico Losito - Director of IBM Digital Business Group IBM Italia - pointed out how "Digital transformation is not an option today anymore, instead it is a necessity for any kind of business". For this reason, IBM is very much interested in collaborating with innovative startups throughout Italy. In addition, as Losito pointed out, this project is framed within a broader initiative aimed at fostering the emergence of new projects based on innovative technologies such as cognitive computing.

The aim of the call is to spot the best digital startups operating in the above mentioned fields, which are able to innovate, improve and guarantee the following elements: the production process and the quality of the products (servilization); the activities devoted to visual recognition of people and objects to foster quality control; the well-being of all the clients and the people involved in the production process thanks to specific wearable devices (IoT wearable) and the R&D for production and maintenance with tools of augmented reality.

To take part in the call companies will have to apply online by September 9^th on the ad hoc platform. Ten companies will be selected among all participants and they will have the chance to attend the Pitch event happening in October 9^th at Talent Garden Milano Calabiana campus. The selected finalists will then present their projects to a very qualified jury made up of IBM top management, partner companies, invited clients and some DM partners.
