Juvenes Translatores, a European contest for students

A EU contest to stimulate children to learn other languages

Juvenes Translatores is a translation contest for schools in the European Union.

Schools wishing to participate must register electronically on the EU dedicated website, and a random draw will be held to select schools to take part in the contest from among those that register.

Each selected school can choose between two and five students to take part in the contest. This year, the translation test will take place on 24 November 2016. On that day, DG Translation will provide the schools with the texts to be translated. The translations must be uploaded on the same day to a database managed by DG Translation, that will evaluate them and choose one winning translation from each EU Member State.

The winners will be invited to an award ceremony in Brussels in spring 2017. If you are looking for alternative ways to push your children to learn another language, this is definitely a good one.
