The Norman Svevo Castle in Bari opens to the public

Soon, the restored first-floor rooms of the Norman Svevo Castle in Bari will be opened to the public, offering to the tourists visiting Apulia another historical gem.

Visitors will be entertained by  the display contemporary artworks and archaeological remains, and concerts, debates and international congresses are to be hosted in the ancient building. The first event to be organized is an exhibition of the artworks owned by local collector AngeloBaldassarre: a series of masterpieces by American artists whose popularity peaked in the 1960s and 1970s, including Joe Baldessari, Sol Lewitt and Andy Warhol. "We will offer more culture and with the opening of a second floor we aim to double visitor numbers," said Svevo Castle director Rosa Mezzina.
