Operae Independent Design Festival opening in Tourin

Torino will welcome tomorrow Italian and international designers at the International Independent Design Festival. From the 11th to the 13th of October, a series of stands,  debates and workshops will offer exhibitors, professionals and visitors the chance of getting in touch with each other at the Operae event.

Reaching its fourth edition, Operae has become a key appointment in the Italian design's calendar, gathering young designers and new talents, as well as well-known ones. Operae has been conceived and developed as a platform where to meet, share, exchange and grow. A place where to discover, each year, a new point of view on design, and therefore generate new opportunities for meeting, doing business, analyzing and comparing themes such as creativity and independent design.

During Operae, you may meet with design studios, handicraft designers, makers, design editors and digital designers as well as buy products that are made in small series or limited editions. Among them, it is worth quoting Antonella di Luca's Citybook, a modular and flexible bookcase that can be placed everywhere and assembled in different forms and dimensions according to ones needs, with modules and nases are linked together by small magnetswork. Ariafritta's feminine but masculine handbags, made of wool, leather, small pied de poule, herringbone, and twill. En tout cas's  anticonformistic, unexpected and provocative pottery. Ilaria I.'s Adobe, a collection of desk tools made using the ancient technique of manual brick's production. Jamais Sans Toi's handmade jewelry, name of ceramic, leather and brass, with beautiful necklaces that can change forms according to what ones wearing thank to a system of spheres that can be combined in a marvellous game of relations. Finally, Teste di Legno's new lighting system, which outlines a three dimensional space while exalting the lamp's hidden wiring, as well as their new stools coming from a series of furniture inspired by graphics, whose dosed colours boldly match one another into a fresh decoration.
