The Italian company CIS (Compagnia Italiana Sali) was ranked 3^rd out of 651 companies competing at the contest La grande Sfida dei Fornitori per il Clima (The big challenge for climate change), organized by Carrefour and the Italian Ministry for the Environment Land and Sea.

CIS was awarded for the project CIS 4 EARTH, launched in 2013, introducing a new line of desiccation for salt production allowing the achievement of four significant goals. Namely, dust emissions reduction in the atmosphere, energy consumptions reduction, packaging reduction and improvement of the working environment.

The company invested more than 1 million Euros to carry out the ambitious initiative but it seems fair to state that the results were definitely worth the efforts.
