Rome, Florence, Venice and Milan among Itaian top tourists destinations
The number of flight+hotel packages sold through Expedia registered a 5 per cent increase, with more and more tourists coming from the United States, Italy of course, United Kingdom, Germany and France.
Clive Ellul Hawthorn, director management of Expedia Lodging partner services in Italy, recently disclosed data about tourists' favourite destinations in Italy: Rome, Florence, Venice, the Amalfi coast and Milan. Further, there are other locations that are not yet included in the top ten although they are rising very fast: Catania, Ischia, Siracusa, Sicily's northern coast, and the Garda Lake.
Beyond that, it is undoubtedly positive that during the first half of 2013, the number of flight+hotel packages sold through Expedia registered a 5 per cent increase, while average duration of holidays was extended to 4.3 days. Finally, the majority of Italian tourists come from the United States, Italy of course, United Kingdom, Germany and France.
