Gambero Rosso publishes its new guide on Italian Street Food

Superb dishes to try from North to South

The well-known Gambero Rosso - the world's authority on Italian food, wine and travel, has published its third edition of the Italian "Street Food" guide. Among the great variety of bakeries, food trucks, panini and crepes places, 22 businesses were awarded as "Regional Champions".

La Luge (Courmayeur) is one of them, standing out for its hamburger with a special tender meat of Japanese origins called Wagyu. Also Il Posto di Ste (Trento) distinguished for its Panini with an exclusive variety of charcuterie. For the same category, 'Ino (Florence) distinguished itself for its naturally risen bread and Cukuc (Perugia) for its variety of sandwiches and grilled fillings.

Perino Vesco Fornai (Turin) is the elegant bakery where customers can find healthy products as well as exclusive treats, like handmade breadsticks with walnuts and chocolate. Strakkino (Genoa) was exalted for its cheese focaccia, whose dough is very thin and cooked in wood oven. Also Gabin Pizza&Food (Udine) was praised for its pizza products, as well as for its sandwiches and hamburgers. Di Riscio Euro (Belmonte del Sannio, Isernia) is also among the "champions" for its cheesy focaccia and pastries.

Macelleria Popolare (Milan) was awarded to be a butchery cooking only organic Italian meat coming from grass-fed animals. The Osteria Chef in Viaggio (Marcon, Venice) is itinerant and was appreciated for its mozzarelle in carrozza and fish dishes.

L'Insolito Bar (Modena)became a regional champion thanks to an exquisite local dish,  the fried gnocco. Also Mariolina (Rome) offers a special kind of pasta, the filled ravioli, available for both eat in or take away.

The Chiosco al Furlo (Acqualagna, Pesaro) offers the exclusive cresciavonta, a sort of piadina cooked on the fire greased with lard and for those who love fish, they can't miss the chance to go to Blu Mare Le Frit C'est Chic (San Vito Chietino).

The champions' list continues throughout Italy with Bomba (Neaples), Panificio Adriatico (Bari), Forno Sorelle Palese (Potenza), Cristini (Cosenza), I Cuochini (Palermo), Pizzeria Bosco (Tempio Pausania, Olbia), Crab (Milano) and Uliassi (Senigallia). And all these are just some of the wonderful culinary experiences Italy can offer.
