Discovering Florence’s hidden (green) jewels

A tour in the Iris Garden

Florence is one of Italian most beautiful cities. Besides its stunning architecture, museums and why not, shopping areas, Florence is also a city of incredible gardens.

Many people know that the Iris is the symbol of the city, but often Florence-lovers discover only by coincidence that, at the beginning of spring, the local municipality organizes an "Iris Contest", opening the garden that is dedicated to this enchanting flower.

The Iris Garden is located next to the terrace at the Michelangelo Square and offers one of the most beautiful views of the city can be admired.

The Garden is open only once a year, between the end of April and the end of May; this year, the opening dates are 25th of April - 20th of May.
