A magic trip among Calabrian traditions

A region where the past is engaging the present to preserve a millenary history

Calabria is an Italian region where traditions have survived through centuries. More than in any other parts of the country, dozens  of customs and rituals have remained unchanged for centuries.

It is very commog to walk past a village and bump into one of the many sacred processions based on very ancient rituals that are still able to maintain a powerful and magnetic charm. In the hinterland, Catholic traditions and Orthodox rites have been coexisting for centuries without conflict.

Calabria is not all about religion: pageants and food festivals are also a must, in region where the past has engaged the present to preserve together a millenary history.
