Open Innovation Program: where the digital world meets the analog one

A combination of elements aimed at fostering the creativity of people

Moleskine and Digital Magics have recently launched a new call addressing Italian and international startups as well as scaleups. While Moleskine stands out as brand supporting creativity and talent, Digital Magics (DM) is a well-known Italian business incubator.

The call launched is known as Open Innovation Program and its main objective is to identify innovative projects concerning digital objects and services for Moleskine+ collections. These products will have to facilitate both the creative and productive processes and to follow the paradigm Analog-Digital-Analog, binding together the digital world with the analog one.

As ordinary people do not usually distinguish between analog and digital, it is easier to imagine this difference in other terms, such as the use of a smartphone (digital) and the use of a blank sheet of paper and a pen (analog). The two worlds are not necessarily mutually exclusive and a project may also result from a combined effort between books, web searches, notes and other elements characterized by a constant mix of digital (analog). Moleskine envisages a future where the combination of these two world will foster the creativity of people, able to work on multiple fronts with several tools.

The startups and scaleups willing to participate in the call will have to present their products, which should be in line with Moleskine values, grounded on key-concepts such as culture, imagination, travel and personal identity. The selected companies will then work together with a team of experts (from both Moleskine and DM) who will help them defining a strategic plan and an idea to promote as part of Moleskine+ collection.

Companies interested in the program have time to apply until September 24th 2017. The application process is available on a dedicated webpage where they can easily follow the instructions. Only 12 finalists will be selected as a prelude of the excellent winners.
