A new player in the Italian TV market

Six companies behind Vision Distribution

Five major Italian production companies and the European pay-TV platform Sky have officially launched their Italian theatrical distribution operation, which has been named "Vision Distribution". The Italian partners are Cattleya, Wildside, Lucisano Group, Palomar, and Indiana Production, which together account for more than 40% of the domestic share of the Italian box office.

The new company will be headed by former Warner Bros Italy managing director, Nicola Maccanico, who has declared that "to have 5 producers as partners is unprecedented", and that the project is likely "to evolve a system which has been static for a long time". There will be more competition in the Italian market, which is currently dominated by state broadcaster Rai and Mediaset/Medusa.
