Start-up: the importance of learning from failures

Learning through failures is not only normal and fair, but also useful to become more competitive and to keep on innovating

The one of the start-ups is a very new world. The level of innovation, expertise and... luck connected to the success of new start-ups inevitably increase the chances for them to fail.

However, what Italy's largest power company, Enel, believes is that we can all learn a lot from failures. This is the reason why the company has decided to promote, in partnership with  the professional advisory firm U-Start, a very unusual contest called "My Best Failure".

The aim is to spread the idea that learning through failures is not only normal and fair but also useful to become more competitive and to keep on innovating. To keep on growing and promote change, we need to risk. Sometimes we can make a bad choice, but if we accept to learn from our mistakes, we can definitely end up shaping new successful and sustainable business models.
