Cibus Connect: a new gathering for Italian food lovers

The new Exhibition will take place in Parma in April

Cibus is the most popular fair of Made in Italy's food. From this year, a new gathering called "Cibus Connect" will be launched to promote Italian food exports.

The first edition of "Cibus Connect" will take place on April 12ve and 13th in Parma, the Italian capital of the food valley and birthplace of the Parmigiano cheese and Prosciutto.

This year, a selection of 500 Italian food companies that are already strong in exports will present their products to a cohort or nearly 1,000 foreign buyers.

These include 150 top buyers organised within the "Discover the Authentic Italian Taste" program of Italian trade agency ICE.

Differently from what usually happens in other fairs, the exhibitor stands will have kitchen units in order to allow them to host show cooking demonstrations. On top of that, fifty small producers that are part of the Slow Food Association and offer traditional products of excellence will be among the 500 companies taking part.

This new fair stands out has an agile, innovative format: it will be covering just two days with a mix of exhibitions, business matching and conferences to delve in depth into issues regarding the Italian food sector.

A long list of interesting workshops will complete the program. Among them, a forum on the "Position of Made in Italy Agro-food with Respect to International Evolution of Consumption" organized with the The European House - Ambrosetti and the "ORIGO, Geographical Indications' Global Forum" on Italian and European protected designations of origin products, organized by the Emilia-Romagna Region and the Italian Agriculture Ministry and sponsored by the European Commission.

Cibus Connect dates basically overlap with the one of Vinitaly, the famous fair on Italian wine, making even more convenient for international buyers interested in Italian products to fly to Italy to visit both of them at the same time.
