Cibus 2018: the most prestigious Italian food fair

Where Italian food & beverage connect with international markets

Cibus 2018 is the international appointment among Italian companies exporting their products abroad. Taking place at the Fair Fiera di Parma (Parma)from May 7th-10th 2018, Cibus will help Italian companies to connect with a plethora of international actors from Retail and Ho.re.ca.

According to Giandomenico Auricchio (President of Fiere di Parma), Cibus represents a wide international stage where Italian companies can accelerate their exports, promoting their products to an international audience. In fact, more and more foreign buyers speak about the event as "an authentic Italian platform", given that only high quality Made in Italy products are allowed to be shown at the fair.

Thanks to a road show touching the biggest foreign fairs in France, Germany, China and the US, a plan to strengthen the incoming of foreign buyers has already been launched. Furthermore, the Hosted Buyers Program - helping foreign buyers in organizing meetings and tours during Cibus and at the headquarters of Italia companies involved in food & beverage - has also been strengthened and re-defined.

Every year 800 Italian food companies enter for the first time in international markets. The Italian food & beverage export has registered a 7% increase (compared to last year) with an expected turnover of 32 billion Euros. The most relevant destination for Italian products is still Europe, followed by the US and a significant trade flow towards Asia. The most important destinations are China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Thailand and Taiwan.

In the 2018 edition, Cibus will have 3000 company presenting their products, confirming its role as the most relevant Italian food fair. Cibus will also host relevant talks on specific themes, such as family consumptions. On this occasion, a number of influent speakers will intervene from the University of Parma, also presenting the results of their latest studies in international market trends.
