Can you sit on a ball? Yes, thanks to Technogym

The Technogym chair allows the sitting person to stay in a correct position, improving muscle flexibility and toning of the abdominal trunk and lower limbs

Remaining seated and exercising have always been at odds, but now a new product by Technogym, an Italian leading company in fitness tools, could conciliate them. It is the "Wellness Ball Active Sitting": a sphere-shaped chair made in a special highly-transpiring PVC material, normally used for the soles of running shoes. The Technogym chair allows the sitting person to stay in a correct position, improving muscle flexibility and toning of the abdominal trunk and lower limbs. The lower part of the sphere is of made of a material with greater density to ensure optimum support, while the upper part is designed to have a more comfortable surface.

The new product is an answer to the risks related to the sedentary life many people conduct. Among scientifically-proven long-term consequences of physical inactivity, there are overweight and obesity, which can also increase one's risk for diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, asthma, arthritis, and a generally poor health status. Moreover, several studies have proven that physical inactivity increases possibilities of heart diseases, and colon cancer. The design of the chair is also meant to be beautiful, so it can be positioned at home next to classic sofas and other furniture and in the office around a meeting-room table: therefore, you can help improving your health without renouncing to a tasteful home or office environment.

The "Wellness Ball Active Sitting" is just the last futuristic idea coming from Technogym, a company that built its success in Italy and abroad on a brilliant mixture of style and handiness. Founded in 1985, by industrial designer Nerio Alessandri, the Italian group is now a prime actor in the field of exercise equipment and its products have been used in several Olympic games: Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Turin 2006, Beijing 2008 and London 2012. Technogym has now 2200 employees in 14 branches in Europe, the United States, Asia, the Middle East, Australia and South America and revenue of over 400 million Euros.
